Dr. Vihanga Wijesinghe(MBBS)

Dr. Vihanga Wijesinghe is a medical professional with a strong clinical background and a dedicated focus on cancer care, early disease detection, and preventive healthcare. He currently serves as a Medical Officer in the Surgical Oncology Unit at the National Hospital, Galle, providing patient-centered medical support across the cancer care pathway.

He offers comprehensive cancer diagnosis support, treatment guidance, and general medical consultations for patients of all ages, with an emphasis on clear communication, ethical practice, and evidence based decision making.

Education And Professional Background

Dr. Wijesinghe graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna, completing his Final MBBS with Second Class Lower Division Honours.

He completed his internship training at Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo (General Pediatrics) and National Hospital Colombo (General Surgery). Following this, he served as a Relief House Officer at the Vascular and Transplant Surgery Unit, National Hospital Colombo, gaining exposure to complex surgical and multidisciplinary care.

He is currently working as a Post-Intern Medical Officer in Surgical Oncology at the National Hospital Galle, where he continues to develop his expertise in cancer-related clinical care.
